You have given me lots of good ideas for my own garden. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your comments. I get new ideas everyday.
Today I took down the Halloween scene, moved part of the elements to the back, and added a new Thanksgiving scene. I got a lot of the things at the 99 cent store. It is so much fun to be creative during the holidays.
You are doing a great job! Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden with so many of us. Looking forward to seeing this at Christmas.
I ran into a goofy solar battery today. Only half the light bulbs were lighting up. Was this because they were only half-charged? I tried changing the battery to one that was just like the one that came with it, and it still did not work fully. I then put in a different battery that was the same voltage, but only 400mAh instead of 600. The lights all lit up, but I smelt a burning odor, so I quickly removed it. I wrote to the manufacturer but have not heard back.
First we had some slugs invade the garden after the rain, and now some grubs. Yuk! Maybe that is why some flower's roots just disappear. I dug into the earth and saw the grubs... just three. I'm glad I did because now I can get rid of them. I went to Home Depot and got some organic pesticides. We will see what happens.
I purchased some gold fairy lights to surround the Thanksgiving garden items. I will take a photo and post tomorrow. It looks really nice. Also, I found a couple of other kinds of worms in the garden I had not found before. I sprayed some more organic oils on the plants. I will purchase some Neem oil next and use that.
I went out to take a picture of the gold fairy lights, but found they had already gone out. Some stay on all night and some last 5 hours. I will try again tomorrow. I added a new crystal ball and another wind chime. I had purchased these before but needed stakes to hang them on. I got them today.
We got some Boxtrolls today at the 99 cent store. Also, some PEZ fairies. You can see them if you look at the New Additions link.
I sprayed some more natural pest repellent on the garden just to make sure the bugs stay away. Also, I need to work on the second part of the video. I have most of the footage, but need to figure out what to do with it.
I got a Pegasus today put it in the garden. I got it at Michaels with a 50% off coupon. I took a picture and will post it under New Additions.
I bought a blue troll and needed a Santa Claus outfit for him. I went to the 99 cent store and found some dog costumes and a Santa outfit to put over a bottle of wine. It worked perfectly. I bought some cotton balls and made a beard. Santa Troll arrives to the enchanted garden on Dec. 1.
I just finished the Christmas scene. I added some snow and I think it looks pretty good. You can check it out under the Christmas and Solar pages. It was so windy today after the rain yesterday that I had to wire some items down to the ground so they would not blow away. Also, our neighbor Kelly brought us some nice Poinsettias. We placed them in the garden. Thank you Kelly!
We just got a new solar laser light. It looks cool, but you really need one from each direction to be effective. It spreads little lights like a laser pen, You have probably have seen them advertised on TV, but this one is solar. Look for pics under the Christmas webpage.
The solar laser light only lasted one hour after having been in the sun all day. I then connected it to a power brick and it lasted over 3 hours. I turned it off before I went to bed, so it probably would have lasted longer. It did not get enough energy from its solar panel. I contacted the manufacturer and will see what he says.
I contacted the solar laser light manufacturer and got clarification on how to charge the new light. I was told to turn the light on before I put it in the sun for 6 hours. I also tried charging the light via USB, and it has been shining for 4 hours now. Tomorrow I will charge it in the sun alone and see how long it works. Also, the light looks better when shining across a large area. I kept it in the same location in the garden, but shined it on the house behind. It draws attention to the house and then the garden.
I got a new pink pig named Tomy and a ferris wheel. I put the pictures under New Additions and Christmas.
Our neighbor, Luca, brought us a present today. They are two beautiful angels from Italy and two very cute cats. We were so surprised to find them on our doorstep this morning. We made a cloud for the angels to float on and we placed the cats under them. Check out the Christmas links to see them. Thank you Luca!!
I put in a door for the fairy house in the garden. A path leads to the door. You can see it under the Christmas tab. We got a new character. He looks like he is part pony and part deer. For now, he is sitting down next to Santa, drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Also, we got some little solar rocks (12). They give off enough light, but only if they are close to the object.
We got a new character named Fear. We put him next to Discord, the half pony half dragon. They are both drinking hot chocolate. You can see pics under New Additions and Christmas.
Merry Christmas. I hope you had an enchanted holiday. I removed the fall garden decorations and added some cute Simpsons characters. I also added the new McDonalds characters from the Sing movie. I put the Sing characters on a toy drum base because I thought it was a cute idea. Additionally, I put a fairy door on the telephone pole in the garden. I made some purple stairs and added a fairy to stand on the top step. I placed a little purple pony near the steps. I will try to take some pics tomorrow and post them under new additions
Happy New Year! We put some decorations out for the new year. We will keep them up for a couple of days. I took some pictures and posted them under New Years. I'm thinking what to do next. I have a Mickey Mouse house with some characters. Maybe I can do something with that. I think the kids would enjoy it.
I added the Anger character, a silver skyline, a little cottage, another dinosaur and a unicorn. They can be seen under New Additions, Solar and Close Up.
The flowers are really going crazy with all this rain. They look so beautiful. I thought the California drought would go on for some time, but I am pleasantly surprised to see how the rain is now making the garden grow.
Daniel's mom brought us a lot of toys that he used to play with when he was a young boy. We put them near the base of the lavender plant after we trimmed the plant leaving it bare-looking. We sprayed some purple plant-safe paint near the roots and put a purple squiggly string near the top of the plant to distract from the trim. I think it turned out pretty nice. We also received some figures that are skiing and snowboarding and placed them near the large troll. Additionally, we got a Pink Panther soft toy and wrapped it around a wind spinner. We really thank Daniel and his mom for sharing with us. You can see the characters under New Additions.
I made a new purple castle. I added some jewels and paint to a wooden castle I purchased at Michaels. Also, I got a new Carnival sign and some porcupine critters. Additionally, I got some nice light lanterns and colored solar balls. Check out the new items under Solar tabs.
The rain made all the flowers grow like crazy, so we tried to cut back them back today. I hated cutting and throwing them away because with the drought it was hard to keep them growing. I tried to transplant 3 lavenders, but I'm not counting on them growing.
We decorated for Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day. It was so much fun.
Just redid the garden after it had became overgrown. All the rain made the flowers grow crazy! We planted a lot of little flowers and hopefully they will grow. We won't put in any of those large statice because they grew too tall. We did a little display for Easter, then took it down after the holiday. The next holiday is Cinco De Mayo. Maybe I can find a little sombrero to put on the dog. Enjoy!
I'm lying in bed after surgery and my friend sent me a picture of your beautiful garden. It made me so happy to see all of the adorable things you have displayed. I plan on coming to see it when I am better
I am sorry you had to have surgery. We will be praying for you. Please come by when you feel better.
I am trying to get the website up-to-date. As you know, we had to replant because the garden got too large as a result of the rains. I posted new pictures today under New Garden 1, New Garden Solar 1, and Cinco de Mayo. I'm wondering what to do for Mother's Day.
I put Shrek back in the garden today. We also planted some more flowers. I did not use potting soil because I am hoping the ground is still good to go from the last garden. I watered it before and after. Time will tell. I get most of the flowers at the 99 cents only store, so I can always get more cheap plants. I put some Miracle Grow on them last week. I will let you know.
Memorial Day is coming up. We bought some flags, red, white, and blue fairy wings, hats and a scarf. It will be fun! For Mother's Day it was so windy we could not put the balloon up the way we wanted to, so we tied it to the umbrella. It was okay. I put a few new pictures up. Enjoy!
We decorated for Memorial Day as I explained in my previous e-mail. Lots of folks came by and shared the garden with us. Some neighbors put some little figures in the garden. It was exciting to find them. We found Captain Hook, a treasure chest, and a bee. We love it. Thanks. You can see the items under New Garden Close Up 6 tab.
Rita our neighbor just gave us a pretty fairy holding red birds. We put her on a bench and she is putting her feet in the pond. You can see the items under the New Garden Close Up 7 tab. We also have some new stepping stones and garden stakes.
Finally got pictures of the 4th of July. The doggie with fairy wings is my favorite.
A friend brought five gnomes that needed some TLC. I washed them off, fixed the holes, painted and sealed them. You can see them on New Garden Close Up 10. Thank you for the donation.
We have received so many secret donations to the garden that we decided to make a category for them, so if you gave us a trinket for the garden, I will try to remember to put a picture of it on our donation page. Thanks for the latest hobbit, one of the seven dwarfs, and a cute anime creature.
Today someone left a little pony in the garden. So cute. Thanks. Also, Landen and Riley donated to a new whistling gnome. It is really cute. You have to stand at a certain angle for it to whistle, and it has to be during the day. Love it! You can see the donations under the donations tab.
Thank you for the lovely little fairy bug that someone dropped off in the garden. We took a picture and posted it under donations.
I just took some new solar night pictures and placed them under the New Solar Garden tab. I also made a back-to-school scene that can be seen under the New Garden Close Up tabs.
I hope you had a fun Labor Day. I placed some pictures on the front page.
New to the neighborhood and had to take an evening walk to see the lights I've been seeing as I drive by at night. It is beautiful and charming Thank you for making my evening special :)
I am glad you enjoy the garden. We just put the Halloween decorations up. What a job! Hope you get to come by and see it.
We just got through taking down Halloween and putting up Fall decorations. We added lots of scarecrows to the garden. Hope you enjoy the Fall scene.
We just put up some flags and several other patriotic items in observance of Veterans Day. A big gratitude for protecting the country being true!
I just put up some Christmas photos of the garden:
Hope you enjoy!
Riley made us delicious cookies. See the cookies on this page:
Renada, our neighbor, brought over some flan she made herself. That was the best we have ever tasted. She also brought us some flowers, a vase and a card. She is so sweet!! Thanks for everything. You are an angel!!
We took down part of the Christmas and New Years decorations and added lots of fun things to create a winter wonderland. You can see them on http://www.ellasenchantedgarden.com/new-garden-9.html and http://www.ellasenchantedgarden.com/new-garden-10.html
We decorated for Valentine's Day. Hope you enjoy.
My name is Ella. Welcome to my enchanted garden.
